The First Time

One of my clearest memories is when I ran away from
the cops for the first time in my life. I was riding down the
road with my Suzuki 100 cc dirtbike. I was doing
about 50 mph, riding carelessly with my hair flapping in
the wind. The world didn't mean much at the moment.
I was still a little tipsy from the night before, but that
didn't matter much. My hand was loosely gripping the
throttle when I heard something behind me. I didn't want
to turn around because I didn't really care. All
of a sudden I saw a sheriff sitting in his
car telling me to pull over. I totally freaked. So with
a natural reaction I pulled my throttle as hard as I could
and the bike just started to pick up in the front as
I started to boar. The pistons going up and down just
gave me a rush. And then I heard the sirens
and that made me even more excited. I
saw a field coming up and I thought. . . if I turn
off here I'll be able to get away. The sheriff was
gaining on me because my bike couldn't go as fast as his
car. My bike was starting to shimmy because the
welding in the front wheel was starting to come
loose and my shocks were shot As I started
to turn into the field I could feel the nobbies grip
the wet pavement and I think I pulled my handlebars
a little too far when the bike started to give out. All of a
sudden I was airborne over the ditch, scared as
hell because I wasn't wearing my helmet. As
I landed my body fell like a rag doll. The cop just
stopped and looked and I took off into the woods.
