Buildings bounteous of bullet holes
Gaunt refugees with worn out clothes
Kids still play hopscotch and jump rope

Volunteers working everyday
Trying to restore schools
Filling hundreds of punctures.
Reestablishing roofs of red clay tile
Replacing doors and windows.

Long laboring days
Deserve long restful evenings

Sitting in a little cafe
Talking about the adventures of that day
Struggling to speak a language we don't even know.
Going to the city with friends at night
Enjoying lots of extraordinary food and coffee

Time has passed so quickly
Have to make the journey home
Pack the bags and say good bye
I'll be back again.
